Impotence

Impotence is simply described as the inability to achieve or maintain an erection suitable for sexual intercourse.  Impotence affects 20 million American men or about 10% of the entire male population and 35% of the men over the age of 60. 

DIAGNOSIS

A complete history and physical along with some psychologic screening and an evaluation of the hormone levels are most important. 

TREATMENT

Medical treatments will be decided by the physician and can consist of:

  • Medication
  • Hormonal treatments
  • Urethral suppositories
  • Self-injection therapy
  • Vacuum Devices
  • Constriction bands

After an examination and diagnostic testing, the physician will decide which treatment will be best for you.
